Level 1: Build a foundation and set ambitions

VIVOBAREFOOT has a strategy to reduce the environmental impacts of its products and communicates this strategy to its suppliers. This is supported by VIVOBAREFOOT’s comprehensive system to monitor and measure the material composition of products, including more sustainable materials broken down into different components. VIVOBAREFOOT assigns responsibility for developing more sustainable products to relevant internal teams, resulting in a score of 88% in level 1.

Level 2: Make steady progress

VIVOBAREFOOT’s CEO and founders proactively support more sustainable product development and a senior manager is formally accountable overseeing its strategy. VIVOBAREFOOT increased the share of more sustainable materials to 50% of its collection by weight compared to 32.2% in 2015’s verification. There remains the opportunity for VIVOBAREFOOT to explicitly include sustainable trims, non-textile components and embellishments in its product strategy. These activities have resulted in a level 2 score of 65%.

Level 3: Adopt best practice

Due to its use of more sustainable materials totalling 50%, VIVOBAREFOOT scored on one requirement in level 3, resulting is a score of 8%. VIVOBAREFOOT did not submit further evidence at this level.
